The girl was taken to Bilston Fire Station after her mother couldn't free her and the crew managed to free her after an hour.

Tears soon turned to smiles though for the youngster, who enjoyed some sweet treats courtesy of the crew after her scary ordeal. John Wildman, red watch commander at the station, said: "At around lunchtime a little girl of about two years old was brought in.

"Her mother had been giving her a bath and was about to wash her hair when she got three of her fingers stuck in the plughole.

"She managed to unscrew the plug from the bath and got a friend to bring her and the little girl to the station.

"She was quite upset and her fingers were swelling up, so we had to put her hand in a bucket of water to cool them down."
