Shooting for the latest series started at the end of last week at the attraction but the set is due to be dismantled with museum life going back to normal.

Stars including leading man Cillian Murphy have been spotted at the museum's canal basin, which has been turned into Charlie Strong's scrap yard for the gangster epic.

Show runners revealed they were glad to be back at the museum once again, with creator Steven Knight calling it the spiritual home of the hit gangster epic.

Mr Knight said: "I can't imagine Peaky Blinders happening without the Black Country Living Museum as our base."

Sacks of hay, chains, boxes and bags of coal have been piled up while a tractor from Wolverhampton also made its way on to the set.

The show's stars stayed near to the museum with fans uploading photos to social media.

One picture showed Murphy at Dudley's Showcase Cinema while another Twitter user claimed he had bumped into the actor at a gym.

Paddy Considine has joined Murphy and Tom Hardy in the star-studded cast for season three.

The BBC Two drama is due to be screened in the early part of 2016.
