Graham Brown died aged 77 at the weekend and flags at Molineux were lowered to half-mast as a sign of respect.

Mr Brown, dubbed an 'unsung hero' by the club, was involved in Wolves' lottery department for 38 years.

He later served as secretary of the Midland Sporting Association committee which overlooks the running of the lottery.

Mr Brown's son Stephen said: "Dad started following Wolves when he was about nine years old just as the Second World War was coming to a close.

"He saw all of the great players and great games in the fifties – he always loved Wolves. He joined the club's lottery in 1977 and stayed loyal throughout the bad days of the mid-eighties.

"One of dad's proudest moments came when funds generated by the lottery were used to finance the transfer of Andy Mutch in 1986.

"He was also delighted when Sir Jack presented the Lottery with a plaque to mark £1 million pounds raised by the draw. Obviously this is a difficult time for the family but at least we have the satisfaction of knowing that on Friday night he enjoyed a tremendous night out with some good friends."
