WATCH: M5 lorry blaze near Halesowen

Commuters were disrupted this morning when a lorry caught fire on the M5 near Halesowen.

The incident took place on the northbound side of the motorway between junctions 3 and 4 at around 7am.

Only the cab of the lorry was alight, thanks to the presence of mind of the driver who separated the trailer.

One passer by commented that he could "feel the heat" from the fire, despite having his windows closed.

Crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and fully extinguished the fire.

All lanes reopened at around 8.15am.
