Paragon Gym features the latest endurance equipment to assist customers looking to step up their fitness levels from tackling obesity to body building training.

The facility, in Phoenix Road, Wednesfield, is the brainchild of Gurinder Mahil who has taken on a team of personal trainers including former Team GB weightlifter Indy Kheela and nutritionists.

Regular centre users include workout enthusiast Kira Hollis, who posts fitness routines on Facebook.

Mr Mahil, aged 26, who grew up in the city, said he set up the business to create more and facilities and to lift the economy of Wolverhampton.

He said: "Due to the ever increasing problem of obesity within Wolverhampton we started our venture with nutritional advice many years ago, we have now taken the step to build an independent facility that caters for any person aged from 16 upwards.

"Using the latest techniques of body weighted, core movements, plate loaded equipment, cross fit rigs, classes and one to one personal training to provide the service of achieving the body transformation required.

"Paragon is aimed at all level of health, fitness and strength. Being a family run business we strive to only provide the best information to our clients to achieve maximum results. In doing so it has created a positive 'can do' attitude in the gymnasium that has built confidence in those who have previously struggled. It is a real eye opener in comparison to other commercial facilities as we don't consider ourselves as a budget gym.

"As strong hearted individuals coming from Wolverhampton we felt that this was missing and we aim to fill that gap. We are just a start up gym, but we are a gym for life and value each individual's needs as not everyone is the same."

"Having a great welcoming from the local community has only strived us to get better and continually improve our facilities for our members. We are currently running strength and conditioning classes that have been structured to target fat loss," he added.

Staff are also working to encourage more women to sign up.

Opening times are Mondays to Friday 6am to 9pm, and weekends 9am to 3pm. There are plans to extend opening hours on Saturdays and Sundays as demand grows.Contracts and pay as you go rates are available.
