The single deck bus was in collision with the silver Ford Focus at the junction of Penn Road and Marston Road near the Waitrose store on the outskirts of the city centre.

The car ended up against railings while the bus came to a standstill blocking the entrance to Marston Road. Two ambulances called to the scene were joined by police as investigations started to discover what caused the accident.

Paramedics boarded the bus to check that none of the passengers were hurt in the crash that happened about 6.15pm. The bus was towed away at 7pm.
