Passengers evacuated after Wolverhampton bus blaze

Passengers were evacuated after the bus they were travelling on caught fire.

The incident happened at Steelhouse Lane which became blocked just after 9am on this morning near Monmore Green when a yellow and blue bus caught fire.

Firefighters from Wolverhampton and Bilston attended the scene following a 999 call.

Wolverhampton City Council's Highways team also attended to clear the road.

Steelhouse Lane, Cable Street and Caledonia Road are currently closed.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an engine fault. Nobody was injured during the incident.
