Keith Parsons forced himself on the 'vulnerable' 23-year-old man who had the mental capacity of an eight-year-old child, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

During the ordeal, the 21-year-old, of Willenhall, kicked and punched his victim with learning difficulties and told him to beg for his life.

Mr Scott Coughtrie, prosecuting, said Parsons was with two other people when he first approached the man near McDonald's in Willenhall and they threatened to hurt him if he did not follow them.

He said: "At one stage there was a mention of a gun. This defendant said he was in possession of such an item."

Mr Coughtrie said the man was described by a relative as having the mental capacity of an eight-year-old and was 'vulnerable' and 'easily persuaded'.

The group went to KFC, near to junction 10 of the M6 in Walsall, and the man's mobile phone was taken from him.

The court was told that eventually they ended up in a flat near Manor Hospital but Parsons fled the property with the 23-year-old after a neighbour called police over a disturbance.

The pair ended up in a field, where Parsons told him to beg for his life and to bend down towards his feet.

Mr Coughtrie said Parsons then kicked him in the mouth several times before placing his penis in his mouth for up to two minutes.

The victim was then punched several times.

A relative of the man found him walking along Poplar Avenue in Walsall later in the evening at about 9pm.

He went to the police station and traces of semen, containing Parsons' DNA, were recovered from his mouth.

Parsons, of Lister Street, Willenhall, was arrested but initially denied what he had done.

He later admitted the rape charge from February 23 last year and a burglary committed on bail in July last year.

Representing Parsons, Mr Christopher Loach said there had been self-harm and suicide attempts while he had been in custody.

He said Parsons had been drinking and smoking cannabis around the time of the incident in February last year.

Judge Nicholas Webb said the act had involved an element of 'humiliation' and 'detention'.

He said his victim had been forced to accompany him and Parsons had known of his mental state.

Judge Webb told Parsons he forced him to commit the sexual act and told him 'he would be shot if he didn't and would be buried'.

Parsons was jailed for nine years for rape and was handed a concurrent three month prison sentence for the burglary.

He will also remain on the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life.
