Man arrested after machete attack in park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after another man was attacked with a machete in a Kingswinford park.

The 25-year-old victim, who has not been named, suffered injuries to his arm during the assault at King George VI Park on Saturday.

Police said a 23-year-old man, from Dudley, had been arrested following investigations.

He has now been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.

Officers said the victim had been rushed to hospital following the attack which had left him with 'serious injuries'.

Detective Sergeant Adam Austin, from Force CID, said: "Initial enquiries led officers to believe the injured man and friends had been involved in disorder at a bar in Wolverhampton earlier in the evening. Enquiries are continuing."

Police previously said the disorder had taken place at the Royal London Bar, in Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton.

The attack at the park took place at around 2am.

DS Austin appealed for anyone with information, or who was in the area at the time, to call the violence team at Force CID on the non-emergency 101 number.
