Man stabbed and drugs stolen on West Bromwich bus

A man was stabbed after a bag of drugs was stolen from him at knifepoint.

The 32-year-old Smethwick man was travelling on the top deck of the number 83 bus along Glover Street, West Bromwich, when another passenger took the bag of cannabis from him.

When the man went to take it back, he was stabbed in the stomach, sustaining a minor wound.

The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Monday.

Police have released images from the CCTV camera on the bus of four young men they would like to speak to.

Investigating officer PC Richard Mander said: "This is an unusual case and we're keen to speak to the four lads in the image.

"The man who had the drugs stolen from him was taken to hospital and released after a few hours later.

"My primary concern at this time is finding his attacker. We will be speaking to him about the possession of drugs as soon as he's well enough."
