Motorcyclist taken to hospital after collision with Brierley Hill bus
A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after hitting the back of a bus.
The accident happened at around 3.15pm today in Moor Street, Brierley Hill.
Two crews from Brierley Hill fire station arrived to help assist the rider after the accident.
Firefighters believe the bike slid on a metal drain cover after rain made roads greasy this afternoon.
Crews had to help raise the bus to allow them to pull the bike from underneath it.
They gave first aid to the rider before paramedics continued treatment.
The road, near the junction with North Street, was blocked for up to an hour after the accident.
Watch commander Peter Cherrington, from Brierley Hill fire station, said: "The bus had stopped to pick people up.
"The roads were greasy at the time.
"It is believed that the motorcycle slipped on a metal drain and went into the back of the bus.
"It is thought the rider has a suspected broken leg and other injuries."
He was taken to hospital for further treatment.
The road reopened fully after 4.15pm.
