Chairman Nigel Pearson made the announcement that Dudley Heathens will now be called Cradley Heathens tonight.

The club was reformed in 2010 from the ashes of the old Dudley Wood club and has since hosted race meetings at Monmore Green in Wolverhampton.

But as club forges forward with plans for a new track closer to its initial home, the management has made the decision to revert its name.

The announcement was made at a club AGM after the move was given the green light by the speedway National League.
