In recent years, brown bins in Walsall had gone uncollected for three months, but last year this was extended to five months.
Now council chiefs have announced they will suspend the service for five months again this year as they face cutting £19 million from next year's budget.
Collections will stop at the end of November until March 31 next year.
While the service is suspended, garden rubbish can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Fryers Road in Bloxwich, and also to Merchants Way in Aldridge.
