Walsall South MP Valerie Vaz has written to FA chairman Greg Dyke as part of the rescue bid for the non-league side being led by fans.
It is hoped Mr Dyke will hold a meeting with campaigners over the future of the 140-year-old Waverley Road club, believed to be the second oldest non-league side in the country, which withdrew from the West Midlands Regional League this season.
