Mosque terror suspect arrested on suspicion of Birmingham pensioner's murder
One of the Ukrainian men being held after bomb attacks near mosques in Walsall, Tipton and Wolverhampton has been now been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a Birmingham pensioner.
The 25-year-old, in custody as part of the terrorism investigation, was today also arrested in connection with the murder of Mohammed Saleem in Small Heath on April 29.
Mr Saleem, 75, was stabbed in the back as he was walking home from a mosque along Green Lane.
Police have said the man has been arrested 'for a further act of terrorism'.
The family of Mr Saleem have been informed of this latest development.
ACC Marcus Beale is leading the investigation. He said: "The murder of Mohammed Saleem now forms part of the wider West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit Investigation."
