Kate's labour means work for Stafford lookalike

With the royal wedding and the birth of her own baby, Stafford's Kate Middleton lookalike has had a busy two years.

She has made a living through her striking similarity to the duchess – and now, with the birth of the royal baby imminent, Kate Bevan looks set to be busier than ever.

The 24-year-old, of Newport Road, gave birth to a daughter named Autumn around 18 months ago and her profile continues to rise.

As the nation waits for the royal birth, Kate Bevan has been booked for photoshoots running through Hyde Park with her daughter in her pushchair.

She was first spotted as a lookalike for the future Queen while working at a pharmacy in Stafford and quit her job to pursue her current profession, which has seen her rub shoulders with the rich and famous.

"Exercising with your baby in the pushchair has become a new craze in London – I think if I did it in Stafford I'd look like a bit of an idiot," said Mrs Bevan. They even have special pushchairs for it now.

"I've been asked to go down for the shoot with Autumn to pose as Kate Middleton with my daughter. I've done quite a few different things like this – I think I'm the only Kate lookalike who has had a baby.

"A mix of national papers and magazines have been in touch. It's all going mad again. I had a break after the wedding, which was great because I'd just had my baby so it allowed me time to look after her. When it was mental I was working nearly every day in London.

If all this had happened a year ago, I'd have had to have turned the work down. But Autumn's now joined a little playgroup in Stafford so it's perfect timing. I'm busy this weekend, but I'm not sure what's on my agenda for next week – I've just had to keep every day free.

"In this kind of work you often don't know what you're doing until the night before. It's always very last minute." Mrs Bevan added that she was excited for the birth of Wills and Kate's baby.

The Duchess of Cambridge lookalike, originally from Dudley, gave birth to her daughter in January last year – 10 days later than expected.

Mrs Bevan says the experience of having a baby was amazing.

"I don't really have any tips for Kate as such – I would just urge her to enjoy every minute," she said.

"I've read an article which said Wills and Kate don't plan on having nannies raising the child which I think is very good. It's really important to be there every step of the way."
