A bus has been dedicated to the memory of Black Country football legend Duncan Edwards at a ceremony held in his hometown.

The new vehicle was unveiled at an event held near Priory Park, in Dudley, yesterday – close to where the former Manchester United star was raised.

Duncan's name is featured on the outside of the bus near to the doors and an information display about his life and achievements placed inside.

It will carry passengers from Dudley to Oldbury, Bearwood and Birmingham every week as part of the 120 service.

National Express West Midlands said it had decided to name the vehicle after Duncan to honour his achievements. Duncan died, aged 21, in the 1958 Munich Air Disaster.

The bus dedication was unveiled by Dudley North MP Ian Austin. Mr Austin said: "I think he should be an inspiration to every young person."
