Thieves have targeted a welding firm in Wolverhampton for the third time in as many months, stealing thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

The yobs cut their way through metal shutters at WIRS Wolverhampton and made off with welding helmets, machinery and other equipment.

A few days before Christmas, one of the firm's commercial directors was punched in the face by a man who threatened to raid the business in Thomas Street, Blakenhall.

A week earlier, two men armed with knives burst in and forced two terrified staff to the ground before stealing cash.

Sales manager Wayne Morgan said today the latest raid was a "kick in the teeth". "After the two incidents in December, we fitted metal gates between our two buildings," he said.

"But this time they just cut through the bolt on the gate and then cut a rectangle shape out of the metal shutters.

"We're now going to have to fit CCTV."

Thieves last targeted the firm on Wednesday at around 9.30pm. Police are investigating.
