Metal thieves have stolen a three-ton hydraulic press from an engineering firm in Walsall.

The machine, which is worth thousands of pounds, was stolen from a secure yard at Tipper Engineering in Hall Lane, Walsall Wood.

Bosses were today shocked at how the huge piece of machinery was taken. The green and yellow press was bought just weeks ago so the industrial fasteners firm could expand the range of products it offers.

Police spokesman Billy Corrigan said: "It appears to have been well organised and would have required heavy lifting equipment and a suitable vehicle."
