Left back Jamie Reckord was involved in a daytime altercation with another person in Ryefield, Pendeford, on March 13.
The 19-year-old, of Coatsgate Walk, Pendeford, was arrested by police the following day.
The player, who represented England at under 16 and under 17 level, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to assault and was released on bail.
The case was adjourned until the week beginning October 31 when he is expected to be sentenced. Reckord joined the Wolves academy in December 2001, before signing professional terms last year.
In March 2011 he moved on loan for the rest of the season to League Two side Northampton Town, where he made his professional debut a day before his 19th birthday. Wolves declined to comment.
