The chips were down when mother-to-be Emma Kennedy realised her baby was on his way as she tucked into a meal at Harry Ramsden's restaurant.

Now Emma and her husband James have turned to the famous fish and chip empire for inspiration about the name of their new little boy, now six-weeks-old.

And baby Harrison - known as Harry - will be able to look forward to free fish and chips on his birthday every year.

Emma was already nine days overdue when she stopped off for a meal at Harry Ramsden's at the Merry Hill shopping centre during an outing with her father Jeff . But she was stunned when she started having contractions.

Emma, who lives in the Wigmore area of West Bromwich, said: "We'd been toying with a couple of names including Fraser and Harrison. But we knew it must be fate when he began to arrive at the restaurant so he decided for us."
