Customer Mark Piddington saw what was happening and lashed out, striking the robber in the head, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard yesterday. Hickinbottom was today beginning an indefinite prison sentence lasting at least three years. The raid happened on November 26 last year at around 2.15pm and Hickinbottom, of Blakeley Hall Road, Oldbury, admitted attempted robbery and being carried in a stolen car.
