Saddlers striker praised for goal
In-form Jabo Ibehre has delighted Walsall boss Chris Hutchings but his manager knows there is still room for improvement.
In-form Jabo Ibehre has delighted Walsall boss Chris Hutchings but his manager knows there is still room for improvement.
The striker netted his 11th of the campaign, and third in two games, as the Saddlers ended host's MK Dons automatic promotion hopes with a 1-0 win on Saturday.
Ibehre's season could be prematurely ended by a hamstring injury which saw him limp off in the 71st minute at Stadium MK but Hutchings insists he can get better.
He said: "We have been telling him to be positive and he has scored a couple in recent weeks, so he is full of confidence. We tell him to hit the target and he will have a chance of scoring.
"He has got pace and strength and we say to him he has to be positive. He does extremely well outside the box but it is in and around the box we need to polish up on. He has been doing that in recent weeks and goals give strikers confidence."
