Food quarter is part of £100m Merry Hill plan
A new restaurant quarter and leisure attractions are set to open at Merry Hill shopping centre as part of a major expansion, it has been revealed.
Owner Intu wants to modernise the shopping centre and has revealed more details about its plans for a new 100,000sq ft extension.
The company is planning to invest around £100 million in the expansion and modernisation of the centre over the next seven years.
And it has now been revealed a new restaurant quarter is likely to be added, to join its exisiting fast food eating area.
Bosses are also prioritising adding leisure facilities as part of the revamp at the Brierley Hill attraction.
Details have not yet been announced but it has been suggested a bowling alley could be an option being explored.
Dan Murphy, general manager at Merry Hill, said: "Our plans to build a leisure extension at Merry Hill are still at a very early stage.
"But will form an important part of our long-term commitment to enhance the centre's leisure offer and retail mix.
"We will be introducing a number of exciting changes and improvements to Merry Hill during this time.
"We look forward to announcing these in due course."
