The 1968 film, starring Dick Van Dyke, remains a children's favourite and this production promises to bring the same magic, colour and imagination.

The musical is based on Ian Fleming's story about an amazing former racing car adopted by a father and his children.

The flying car is the star has competition from a cast including Any Dream Will Do winner Lee Mead as Caractacus Potts and Carrie Hope Fletcher ,from Les Miserables, as Truly Scrumptious.

Comic support comes from Phill Jupitus, recently in the Producers with Jason Manford, and Claire Sweeney, in Birmingham a short while ago as part of the Hairspray cast. They play Baron and Baroness Bomburst. Meanwhile, the creepy Childcatcher will be played by former Jersey Boy Matt Gillet.
