The circus, an amalgamation of energetic acts, music and comedy, incorporates fantastic performances from all over the world. The event takes place at Wolverhampton Racecourse, Gorsebrook Road, until Sunday.

Peter Norris, of the circus said: "This year's spectacular features an unrivalled mix of genuine circus talent from every corner of earth, all this is backed by a mixture of traditional and good-time pop and rock hits from the past four decades bringing an age-old tradition into the new millennium.

"In an age where so much entertainment is unreal, made up of special effects, CGI and has a virtual reality, or is pre-recorded, multi-tracked, digitally enhanced or in some other way electronically created – the sheer reality of a live show with live music is a breath of fresh air."

The animal-free circus features jugglers, balancing acts, aerial performers, hula hoopers, a contortionist, who fires an arrow from a bow with her feet, and the latest sensation – Laser Man, who fires laser beams from his fingers.

The show is part of a 24-week tour of the UK, with the circus set to appear in Cheltenham, Cardiff, Manchester, Brighton and Halifax in the coming months.

Performances in Wolverhampton take place today at 5pm and at 7.45pm, Saturday at 3pm and 6pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 5pm. For tickets call: 0844 453 9009 or visit www.circusberlin.co.uk
