Charity Wednesbury 2000 is putting on the event at its base at the old post office in Holyhead Road.

At the event on Saturday from 10am, local dance group KL Dance Academy will be performing, as well as a number of bands including The Strike, Davie Jung and The Midnight Chorus.

Guests who turn up will also be able to take part in free band rehearsals and recording sessions. Complimentary guitar and drum lessons will also be held.

Wednesbury 2000 member and event orgGettaniser Joshua Pritchett, aged 24, said: "We're trying our best to help the people of Wednesbury and by being involved we encourage everyone to be part of the celebration.

"It's a free event as we're funding it through the charity ourselves. We hope it will be a great day." The charity aims to be part of the enjoyment of this year's Black Country Festival. Black Country Day is being staged this Tuesday.

Wednesbury 2000 offers accommodation and facilities to local groups and organisations at its base called The Splinter Studio.

They aim to support groups and promote the town.

The festivities begin at 10am with a model railway exhibition and the bands will be performing from 1pm to 10pm.

Anyone who wants to attend should call 01215025736 or 07581 354231.
