Dance sensation Burn The Floor is so hot it wouldn't be a surprise if the floorboards of Birmingham Hippodrome's stage were reduced to ashes.

The sizzling show puts the likes of hugely popular Strictly Come Dancing in the shade.

Fast-paced and passionate, a group of up to 20 champion dancers take the audience on a journey through the history of the dance – from sultry and steamy Latin numbers to elegant waltzes.

The athletic professionals delivered jaw-dropping non-stop routines without so much as stopping to come up for air.

They tell the story of ten dances – the waltz, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep, cha cha, samba, paso doble, rumba and jive.

And their lifts, turns, flicks and kicks are so fast it's a case of blink and you'd miss them.

They leave the crowd – which last night included Strictly's Anita Dobson – mesmerised.

The show is so intense the audience have a hard time sitting still in their seats.

Breathtaking from start to finish, Burn the Floor certainly earned its standing ovation. It really is the hottest show in town.
