Out with the old and in with a new uniform and headteacher
With a belief that the country's next generation of professionals are being educated at Wodensborough Community Technology College, the newly-appointed headteacher Mr Stephen Lanckham certainly has high hopes for the school.
Stephen started teaching in 1995 and has been involved in school leadership for the past 10 years.
He says: "I have only been at Wodensborough since September but already feel part of the Wodensborough family, the school has a friendly welcoming environment, you can sense that the community plays a very important role in making Wodensborough the welcoming environment it is.
"The whole school is a wonderful state-of-the-art learning environment with outstanding facilities, that will enable the teachers to deliver a highly structured and personalised curriculum, which will give our students the opportunity to maximise their learning.
"The school's aim is to make Wodensborough a safe and enjoyable evironment, that will motivate and insipre children to achieve above and beyond what they ever thought possible, enabling them to become responsible citizens within the community and workplace.
"The students have the most up to date technology available to them accross the curriculum, I believe that our students can aim high and achieve their dreams of being future politicians, doctors, sports stars, authors, artists and scientist, they have the foundation to do whatever they choose, they only have to believe in their own abilities and skills.
"I believe that our school will be recognised as a beacon of outstanding practice. We are going to build on the current work operating within the school and ensure students are supported in the best possible way, we will soon be launching a comprehensive virtual learning platform.
"We provide regular and informed feedback to parents through a multitude of meeting monitoring their childs progress.
"The school aims to provide the very best education and range of experiences to enable students to have a relevant and effective preparation for life and future learning.
"All of this is offered in a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment with access to a rich variety of extra curricular activities so that, as the school's Ofsted report stated, 'all the pupils are able to learn to the best of their ability'."
Ofsted also recognised the school's outstanding pastoral care and excellent provision for the care, welfare, health and safety of students.
As part of the new look Wodensborough, students are now wearing the smart, distinctive new uniform.
