Events have been taking place throughout July as part of the overarching Black Country Festival, now in its second year.

But tomorrow marks the official day itself, chosen as it marks the anniversary of the invention of the Newcomen Engine, the World's first steam engine, built in Dudley in 1712.

To coincide with the celebrations the Express & Star will be publishing the results of its 2015 Black Country survey.

We have been asking for your views on the region and what the Black Country means to you – the people who live here.

Tomorrow's paper will also include a four-page picture round-up of events which took place over the weekend.

Events included the flagship celebration in Stone Street Square, Dudley, on Saturday and the Wolverhampton City Show at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Sunday. There were also fun days which took place, including those in Sedgley, Gornal and Wall Heath.

A real treat for football fans was on Sunday as Tipton Town FC took on a side of 'West Bromwich Midland Allstars' featuring players including Bob Taylor, Paul Devlin and Richard Sneekes.

There was also the Black Country Beer Day staged by members from Dudley, South Staffordshire, Stourbridge and Halesowen Camra branches.

Tomorrow people are invited to the Avoncroft Museum to see demonstrations of the traditional skill of handmade chain-making in the attraction's 19th century chainshop.
