Katie Davies landed a one-off contract after posting a picture of her creations online.

Mrs Davies, who trades from her home in Bridgnorth, designs bags that resemble all sorts of cakes – from Battenbergs to French Fancies.

She posted one of her designs on Twitter and 'tagged' in the cake manufacturer, whose staff got in touch about using her products for a special competition.

Mrs Davies said: "I've been trading since January last year but to get this order was so exciting.

"Mr Kipling got in touch after seeing one of my Battenberg creations and commented that it was 'superb'.

"The company's name was mentioned on Twitter and someone must have been monitoring it because they were soon in touch."

The cake manufacturer was running a competition to give consumers the chance to cake-based products, which were made from different craftsmen, one of which was Mrs Davies cake-styled bags.

"It was all very exciting and it was great to work with them," she said.

"We currently have contracts with Tania Holland Gallery, stores in Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, and even a store in Yeovil, so business is going well at the moment.

"I also sell my products at vintage craft shows but mostly through the shops."
