The former Punch Taverns pub is currently closed for refurbishment. Director Angus McMeeking said that the plan was to have the Queens Head up and running before Christmas.

It takes the number of pubs operated by Black Country Ales to 31, including two in Birmingham.

The Queen's Head will serve ales brewed at the Pensnett-based company's brewery at the Old Bull's Head in Lower Gornal and guest beers and will have 10 handpulls.

The pub was available for offers based on £295,000 when it was put on the market earlier this year.

The chain also owns The Courthouse in Dudley town centre and The Lych Gate Tavern in Wolverhampton city centre.
