Burrows on the move to fresh fields
A Staffordshire horticultural and groundcare machinery company is uprooting and moving to large new premises after four decades of trading at its current site near Stafford.
Burrows Grass Machinery's move is being supported with an e-commerce website and new branding for the business.
The firm, which has a staff of nine, has invested around £80,000 in bespoke new facilities on Toll Gate Industrial Estate, at Beaconside, Stafford, which will officially open next month. Burrows Grass Machinery was established in Stafford Street, Newport in 1951 and has been supplying groundcare and industrial machinery to the general public and commercial customers from its showrooms and workshops at Spring Slade Works in Bednall since the mid 1970s.
Managing director Clive Watton, from Penkridge, said: "We are fortunate to have a very loyal and diverse customer base and the new modern and much larger facilities will enable us to enhance the service that we provide to them. Being a Staffordshire man myself it is especially rewarding to be involved in this local company expansion.
"Covering an area of over 4,000 sq ft the new site will host bright new showrooms and offices, together with self-contained workshops, warehouse and secure storage yard and is a major investment by the company, aptly displaying our commitment to the Staffordshire and Shropshire areas. We currently have a fleet of over 75 ground care machines on hire to local authorities and contractors, supporting them with a full maintenance scheme and we are justifiably proud of our enviable customer service record.
"The new premises at Beaconside will feature a lounge and coffee area with video displays to allow us to showcase our wide range of domestic and commercial machines from established makers such as Kubota, Stihl, Atco and Hayter, so that people can select the right machine for their individual needs."
The new development will also have full maintenance and parts department facilities for after care, covering most other makes and models of modern machinery.
"Experienced staff will be on hand to offer advice and to arrange demonstrations and we will be expanding our customer base, together with having a resident training officer who will provide appropriate and certified training for commercial customers to help make the most of any investment," added Mr Watton.
It will be fully operational from the middle of May.
