Town MP Mark Garnier, the Mayor of Kidderminster Councillor Michael Price and his consort Paul Simpson joined around 40 guests at the event which included a presentation and factory tour, before a toast from Mr Garnier and the cutting of the ribbon by the Mayor.

Quantum Mouldings, a family business that has been manufacturing fibreglass products for a wide range of applications for 30 years, moved to the former Sealine factory last year, after it outgrew its premises in Stourbridge.

Quantum invested £1.2 million in the relocation and fit–out of the new premises which was part funded by a European Regional Development Fund grant from the Green Bridge Supply Chain Programme, which was obtained with assistance from Birmingham City Council.

The move will enable the company to pursue its ambitious plans for growth, with turnover predicted to grow to £5 million within five years and the workforce to increase to 50 within three years - 10 new staff have already been recruited, which was a key requirement of the funding.

Since the move into the 50,000 sq.ft. space, the company has purchased more machinery, built new offices and improved processes enabling them to extend further into green technology markets – something the company has long been keen to pursue.

Owner and director Peter Wooldridge said: "The opening event was a great way to mark this important stage in our development and thank the advisors and professionals who have helped us obtain the funding to make the move.

"We are grateful that so many of our clients took time out to join us and help us celebrate, we are looking forward to many successful years in Kidderminster."
