Demolition company changes hands
The demolition arm of the Black Country-based Humphries Holdings group has been sold to its management by the couple who have run the business for the past 45 years.
David Humphries and his wife Elizabeth, part of the four generations to run the Humphries Demolition business since 1919, have now handed control to Nigel Gill, Paul Ferran and Craig Poole, who have worked with them for many years.
David and Elizabeth Humphries say they are enthusiastic about the future of the family business and are confident that it will continue to flourish in the capable hands of Nigel, Paul and Craig, who are basing the firm in Wednesbury.
The Humphries were represented by the corporate and commercial property teams at Hawkins Hatton Corporate Lawyers, based in Dudley, which were led by Ruth Murday working alongside Colin Rodrigues. Hawkins Hatton worked intricately with Mike Bache of Bache Brown & Co to shape and deliver an acceptable deal which was acceptable to all concerned.
Colin Rodrigues said: "Like any family run company which has been run successfully for many years, Ruth and I wanted to ensure that the success was not tarnished in any way by the process. Accordingly, we did our best to promote an open dialogue between all focused on the outcome given that David and Elizabeth will continue to work alongside Nigel, Paul and Craig until Easter 2015."
Mike Bache added "I have worked with these clients for a number of years and it was important for them to feel comfortable and properly advised of all the pitfalls whilst being lead through what could be a daunting process."
