Beware the Fulham flanks warns Mick
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has warned his full-backs to beware of Fulham's wing threat on Sunday.
Blackburn punished the Molineux men from the flanks with a cross from the left for the third goal in Rovers' 3-1 win last Saturday.
McCarthy is well aware of one of Fulham's wingers – Damien Duff – because he gave him his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in 1998, the first of 75 caps.
Wolves were linked with the then-Newcastle wide man in the summer and McCarthy would have loved to have signed him, but there was never a chance of a deal with the player earning around £70,000 a week.
Now with the boot on the other foot, the manager has warned of the danger the former Newcastle wide man poses to his full-backs.
McCarthy said: "The two wingers Duff and Clint Dempsey are a real handful, the pair of them."
