Swimmers were today taking their final dip at Coseley Baths which was closing for the final time.

Demonstrators were outside the pool today, pledging to continue their fight in the courts.

Dudley Council is closing the pool because it says it needs £2 million in repairs.

One swimmer, retired steel worker Tom Hunter, aged 72, from Earl Street, Coseley, said: "I have been swimming here for 40 years three or four times a week.

"It will be a real loss to me as I have made a lot of friends here."

'Save Coseley Baths Campaign' spokesman Brian Guest has insisted there will be a meeting a solicitor tomorrow to get advice on legal moves, to give the baths a stay of execution.
