Shakespeare's enthralling tale of passion, power and politics is expertly brought to life by Alistair McGowan and Jason Merrells in the only Midlands date for this gripping production at Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre.

The show takes place between Tuesday, March 31 and Saturday, April 4, with performances taking place at 7.30pm each evening and a 2.30pm matinee on Wednesday.

There will be an audio-described performance from Anne Hornsby on Wednesday April 1 at 7.30pm, as well as a sign language interpreted performance on Thursday, April 2 at 7.30pm.

The story in set in Vienna where, after 14 years of lax governance, the city has become a place where moral and social corruption are rife.

When the Duke leaves on pilgrimage, he hands over power to the cold and puritanical Lord Angelo, who embarks on a ruthless mission to restore order and virtue tot e a city out of control.

As the temptation to take advantage of his position grows, Angelo is unaware that his regime is being secretly observed from within.

One of the country's most familiar faces, Alistair McGowan, takes on the role of the Duke opposite Jason Merrrels' (Waterloo Road, Lark Rise to Candleford) Angelo.
