Jarvis hopes to make Hillsborough trip

Wolves winger Matt Jarvis is hoping to be fit for Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday – after spending two days in hospital.

Jarvis, who has also been battling a knee injury, has missed the last two games with an infected blister on his foot, sustained in the 2-2 draw against Cardiff.

He said: "After the game the inection went straight into my bloodstream, which can happen because after a match you're run down.

"I came in on the Monday for treatment on my knee as well and started to feel a little unwell. I got antibiotics for that and some stuff to clean out the blister, but when I came in the next day I was bright red!

"I'd had an allergic reaction to something and on Tuesday night at home I was just radiating - I was bright red, had goose pimples, was shivering and my face was starting to swell up.

"I phoned the doc who came and picked me up. We went straight to hospital.

"I went straight onto a drip, spent Tuesday night in there and actually didn't come out until Thursday night. I feel fine now though."

Midfielder Dave Jones is hoping to be in contention for the trip to Hillsborough after a patella tendon injury.

Jones is progressing well and is vying with Nigel Quashie to replace the suspended captain Karl Henry, who starts a two-match ban.
