Problems on train lines through the West Midlands continued today.

Power cable problems on a branch line in Warwickshire caused 50 minute delays and a seventh day of rail misery for commuters.

And there were also delays in Walsall today after the body of a man was found on another branch line.

It came as the West Coast Main Line between Wolverhampton and London Euston got back to near-normal service after six days of disruptions caused by power cable failures and Friday's plane crash near Stafford.

Services to and from Lichfield Trent Valley, Stafford, Stoke-on Trent and Liverpool Lime Street were delayed by 50 minutes because of the power cable failures in Atherstone, Warwickshire.

In Walsall, police and ambulance crews closed the line at Ryecroft Junction off Bloxwich Road and found a body under the bridge. Trains to Cannock, Hednesford, Bloxwich, Walsall and Tame Bridge Parkway were expected to face 45-minute delays until 11.30am as officers dealt with the incident.
