Celtic defender Naylor is travelling down from Glasgow for the biggest night of Hough's career when he takes on Birmingham's Max Maxwell over 10 rounds at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall.

Naylor has cut short preparations for Saturday's clash at Hibernian and Tuesday's Champions League clash at Barcelona in the Nou Camp when he will face world greats such as Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o.

"Lee's coming down – I'm really good friends with him," said Hough.

"We grew up together on the Mossley estate in Bloxwich and I've known him since he was 10 or 11 years-old.

"He was my younger brother Dale's age. Dale had trials with Wolves at the same time Lee went there, and Dale could have made it a as well, but Lee stuck at it and did really well.

"It does inspire me to be honest to see how well he's done because he's played against some of the best players in the world such as Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o.

"I'm proud of him because he's a local lad done well and I want to be the same. He's been at a lot of my fights and texted me to say good luck.

"I'm really good friends with Lee's brother Martyn, who now plays for TNS and I've dropped off a load of tickets at his house for him to distribute them to our mates."

Wolverhampton's Dean Harrison fights his first eight-rounder against Ghanaian Alex Brew while Stafford's Rob Hunt, and debutant Neil Perkins are also in action.

Tickets, priced £30 and £50 ringside, are still available from Paul Rowson on 07976 283157 or on the door.
