Wales boss John Toshack confirmed Eastwood's injury problem after the 2-1 win in San Marino last night.
"Freddy has got an achilles problem. He complained about it in training on Tuesday and it was touch and go whether or not he would play," he said.
"On the day of the game he was still in some discomfort so we put him on the bench and decided to leave him out altogether in the end."
