In a game that failed to hit the pulsating heights of Sunday's Molineux encounter, the Baggies were on top for the most part.

The win earns them a play-off final encounter against Derby at Wembley on Bank Holiday Monday with the winners earning a £60 million jackpot.

Tyhe only goal of the game came on 65 minutes when Kevin Phillips scored his third goal of the two-legged encounter to send Wolves through 4-2 on aggregate.

The first half saw the two teams share the spoils, but it was Wolves who came out of the traps fastest winning four corners in the first four minutes as they looked to overcome their 3-2 first leg defecit.

But as the half went on it was Albion who gradually assumed the upper hand and had the better of the chances.

Jason Koumas and Diomansy Kamara looked the most dangerous threats for the Baggies while at the other end of the field Andy Keogh and Michael Kightly always looked dangerous for the visitors.

In the Wolves goal, young keeper Wayne Hennessey made a number of important stops while Dean Kiely had to be alert to deny Jay Bothroyd at the other end.

Albion: Kiely, McShane, Sodje, Perry, Robinson; Koren, Greening, Gera, Koumas; Kamara, Phillips.

Wolves: Hennessey, Collins, Breen, Craddock, McNamara, Kightly, Olofinjana, Potter, McIndoe, Keogh, Bothroyd.
