Cannock Chase District Council was under no overall control after the Tories lost their majority last year. Coming into the contest they had 18 seats on the council while Labour were on 17, the Green Party had five and the Liberal Democrats had one.

A boundary review prior to this year's election led to a reduction in wards, from 15 to 12, while the number of councillors was cut from 41 to 36. Three councillors were being chosen to represent each ward – a change from the previous system where wards had two or three representatives.

In total 117 people stood.

At the end of the contest, Labour had 21 councillors compared to 10 for the Conservatives and five for the Green Party.

Here are the full results.
